Hastings-based artist Emily Allchurch received her MA from the Royal College of Art, London in 1999. Her complex digital photo-collages, often referencing Old Master paintings and prints, have been exhibited, and held in public and private collections worldwide.
‘Closer to Home’ is Allchurch’s response to being largely confined to her home county of East Sussex during the Coronavirus pandemic. From photographs she took on her daily walks she created a set of 12 digitally-collaged landscapes following a calendar year, not only in celebration of the natural world, but also as a reminder of its precarious fragility.
