Claudia De Grandi: Still Light On The Horizon

Exhibition Info:

Tadhg Mae Projects are proud to present an exhibition of the work of Claudia De Grandi. Claudia De Grandi is a Brazilian-British artist based in East Sussex. Her work centres on the horizon and the ocean as spaces of light, depth and contemplation, not as landscape, but as distilled experience.

The ocean has long been a source of mythology, of magical stories and a place to heal. Still Light on the Horizon brings together a selection of works exploring the quiet meeting point between sea and sky. Together we stand at the edge of the water, where light shifts slowly and time feels suspended.

Claudia says, “I feel the horizon as a metaphor is universal. These works are inspired by the South Coast and the coast of Northern California. In travelling and observing both the English Channel and the open ocean, I felt a shared atmosphere, but also a deeper, almost omnipresent sense of mystery that connects them. I’m drawn to the ocean as a presence, something so vast and primordial, both unknowable and quietly transformative. it holds the story of where we all came from.
